Disney World... Day 1

We decided last year that we would take Chloe and Brody to Disney World this February since they would be at the perfect ages to be able to ride and enjoy everything there. And most importantly, they would be able to remember this trip as they are 5 and 7 years old now. We are so glad that we waited until they were both old enough to enjoy their first trip there as seeing the excitement and having them experience it together was priceless.

Day 1: Tuesday,  February 18
We woke up super early this morning for a flight down to Orlando. It didn't take much persuading to get the kids up and out of bed! They happily woke up and were dressed and ready to go within 20 minutes.  Flights went smoothly and everything went perfectly!

Ready for take-off

Carry-on for the kids... check
Magic Bands... check
Pillow Cases for the characters to sign... check

Chloe HATES the actual taking off! Bless her...

Upon arrival to Orlando, we were able to just grab our carry ons and not worry about our luggage. We just hopped on board the Disney Magical Express bus and they took care of the rest! Our bags magically appeared in our room several hours later with no problems.

Sleepy head on the way to the hotel

Too excited to sleep

One really cool thing that we were part of was the Disney Magic Band program. These bands contain EVERYTHING! They are testing them out now and will roll them out for everyone eventually. Our bands were our resort room keys, our park passes, had our fast passes on them, and we paid with everything with them as it was all connected with our card. These bands literally were our lifelines while we were there. As long as we had them we needed nothing else except our phones...because those had the Disney App on them. The new App allowed us to change our fast passes, update reservations, had GPS for maneuvering through the parks, showed us where the characters were and at what times, showed us current wait times for all rides, and lots of other things. It was a true life line for us.

Anyways, we checked into our room at the Contemporary Resort, which by the way was upgraded to a Theme Park View for FREE to our surprise!!!! This meant we were able to stand on our balcony and see Cinderella's castle and the fireworks every single night. It was glory! What a sweet sweet surprise for our little family! We got settled into our room and then went for a late lunch/early dinner at the Polynesian Resort. We had heard way too much about the famous Pineapple Dole Whips over there to pass them up so we decided this would be the best time to get one and then come back, take the kids for a swim and hit the sack in preparation for our first park the next day.

Checked in at our hotel and excited to get their free cups

At the Polynesian Resort for dinner

The pineapple dole whip...really good, but wouldn't rave about it.

Our room with a view!

And our nighttime view...
