Surprise of all Surprises...

Today, around 4:00 or so, my phone rang and the caller ID showed a number from Atlanta, Georgia. I assumed it was my in-laws as they are from the Atlanta area, but when I answered it, it was so not them. It was...get ready for this...are you sitting down?!? The President of Chick-fil-A, Dan T. Cathy, calling me...little ol' me to let me know that he had just gotten word of all that's been going on and he wanted to call to offer some encouragement as he has also been through a difficult time medically speaking. Anyways, before we got off the phone, he asked if he could pray for me and then did just that. I told him that David would for sure be updating the Nashville market about the outcome after the surgery so that if he wanted to he could ask our business consultant about the outcome. Instead, he asked me to ask David to voicemail him directly or if he sends an email to send one to him as well.

Can we just say things like this don't happen anymore? I would venture to say that MAYBE in only like 5% of companies does the President of a 3 Billion dollar company call you personally to pray for you and your medical problems. And what gets me is that he actually called me, the spouse of an owner. He could have just as easily called only David to let him know that he and his family were praying for me, but he took it one step furthur...went the second mile, to let me personally know.

I have always respected him and the entire Cathy family, and it's for reasons such as this. I'm honored and priveleged to know this family and know what and Who they stand for.

Brody has...

A TOOTH!!! His first of many and I'm so excited!!! David and I were away at a Chick-fil-A seminar in Long Beach, California for 5 days and apparently he decided to cut his tooth right before we came home. It actually broke through on his 6 month birthday. It's really cute if I may say so. I have forgotten just how exciting these little moments are!!!
Now, I have to back-track a little and go back to Valentines Day. We had a great day! Chloe walked around off and on all day yelling "I LOOOOOOVE Valentines!" In her box, she got some plastic high-heels, necklace and bracelet, a new pair of jammies, and a new cup with a straw. I told David that she walks in those shoes as if she were born wearing heels. It is so cute! Brody got several pairs of new jammies as he is just out-growing everything he has, and he got a few new small toys. It was just a really fun day! We had lip and heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, and cupcakes as an evening snack.

Now, back to the present. Both of the babies are sick. Brody has an ear infection...his first, and Chloe has viral pneumonia. They are both okay. Brody acts as though nothing is wrong. I just took him in because he was coughing and had drainage. Chloe on the other hand has had fever ranging mostly from 102-104, is breathing fast, is not eating much, laying around a lot more, and just doesn't feel good. Please pray that they both heal very quickly as I am scheduled for surgery on Monday and I don't want them still sick when I leave for it. If they are, I'll just re-schedule, but I really want this over and done with. So...prayers please? Thanks!!!

Now on to fun...PICTURES! Enjoy and I'll update on the kidlets on Sunday evening.

His shirt says "Hunk-a-Burnin' Love"

We met Kirk Cameron at Seminar this year. He was signing copies of the movie FireProof that he starred in.

And...a close up. Does anyone besides me still love Mike Seaver?!? (Growing Pains) I still DVR the episodes as I truly still love that show!!!

New Pictures

We have had some great weather lately so we have been able to enjoy the outside a little bit. My mom and I took the kidlets to the park yesterday and played with them. Chloe played on the swings, slides, and merry-go-round while Brody had fun on the swings. It was great to get out and get some fresh air.

Brody has now had green beans and I think he likes them as good at the other veggies. I think we will go with one more veggie after this one and then add in some fruits. I'm thinking of going with the standard start of bananas then maybe some peaches. I'll never get him out of the highchair then!

Chloe is still being Chloe. She's very into Dora right now so we have all adopted Spanish as a second language. Everything is all about Dora! She's moved from Mickey Mouse to Word World to Dora. Wonder what will be next.
Oh, and her new phrase is that she is going to San Diego. We watched Madagascar yesterday and in the movie the animals talk about the San Diego Zoo so yesterday when we left for the park she said she was going to San Diego. Then last night she asked David if she could go to San Diego "please!" Very cute.

Alright, on to pictures. More later...

Kiddie Fun

Well, it is high time for an update on the kidlets so sit back and relax while I brag on...uh, I mean share new fun things about my kids with you.

Chloe:
Wow - she NEVER stops talking!!! She is a motor mouth from the time she gets up until she goes to bed at night and most nights she even talks in her sleep. Most of her little report cards from school say she had "chatty" days. And to think that I was worried about her talking. Ear plugs anyone?!?
Also, she has taken to asking me every morning if mommy is still sick and if my arm is still hurting. Then she proceeds to tell me that she is also sick and her arm is also "broken." And that conversation is followed by her crawling in "mama's bed" and getting under the covers with me and watching her Leap Frog movies. It's interesting that the bed is known as mama's bed but the car is known as daddy's car...and she's very adament about those things.
This morning I was getting her ready for school and grabbed her Valentine outfit since it's now February. I want her to get several wears out of it before the 14th. Anyways, she told me that she would wear the shirt, but not the "heart pants." Now they are really cute pink pants with hearts all over...may sound it tacky, but totally not...well, not that tacky. Anyways, I asked her what she wanted to wear and she told me jeans. Then told me that "mama wear heart shirt (yes, I had a shirt on with a heart on it) and jeans. Chloe wear heart shirt and jeans." Well, I can't argue with that. So that's what she wore. And then she told me that she didn't want her brown shoes but wanted her new tennis shoes. Picky picky picky.
Let's see, oh, she got into a slight altercation at her daddy's Chick-fil-A yesterday. There were 3 little boys coming down the slide in front of her. When they got near the bottom, the first little boy stopped sliding and wouldn't go any furthur so none of the other kids could go on down. There was a 4 child pile-up and Chloe happened to be in the back. She started yelling at the boys saying "MOVE, I STUCK!" She said this over and over again until they finally moved on down.

Baby it's cold outside

Brody:
Jumping bean! He probably jumps 18000 times/day. He LOVES LOVES LOVES his jumperoo. I mean he seriously has jumped himself to sleep in it. He is so very happy when he is jumping. Wish they made adult ones as they do look quite fun.
He is also loving his veggies. So far he has had sweet peas, squash, and carrots and of course rice cereal. There is no favorite as he truly loves them all. He's about to eat us out of house and home though. BOY CAN EAT!!! I think he is finally growing into his length.
Of course he continues to be the happiest baby on the block. Nothing phases him unless he is tired or hungry. He just smiles, laughs, plays and jumps all day. Seriously he could NOT be more laid back. He's like his daddy in that respect as I am not at all laid back...nor is Chloe.
Oh, and he is FINALLY getting some hair! It's coming in blonde so it is hard to see, but it is coming in. So different to have a baby with peach fuzz versus Chloe who was born with more hair than a monkey.

Both kidlets have been spoiled rotten over the past 1.5 weeks by David's mom. She came originally to visit so that David and I could get away to Knoxville for the UT/Memphis basketball game a few weekends ago. Little did anyone know that when we planned this trip that she would have to stay and care for the kids while I had surgery and dealt with all of that. The timing of her trip turned out to be perfect though. She is leaving tomorrow to go back to Georgia but the spoiling won't stop. My mom is coming tomorrow afternoon and then my dad will be coming shortly thereafter to help with the kids. I don't know that we will ever get our kids back under control after all the grandparent spoiling. That's okay though as grandparents' main job is to spoil the grandchildren like crazy. And we SOOOOO appreciate the help with them.
