List of To-Do's Getting Smaller...

Riding her Care Bear Car in the driveway. This is one of her favorite toys

Ah...the sprinkler on a 95 degree day. She was a little leary of it at first as you can tell.

Blowing bubbles - yet another favorite.

Chloe is an EXTREMELY picky eater. This marks the first time that she has EVER eaten a banana since going off of baby foods. I'm telling you that SHE IS PICKY! If it's not chicken, cheese, yogurt, crackers, or Nutrigrain bars she wants no part of it.

My baby looking like a big girl now.

Getting ready to go outside.

Loving the sunglasses - Miss Hollywood

So it's been a full week since I posted the list of things that must get done before baby arrives. I'm happy to say that several of the major things have gotten accomplished and can now be marked off the list.

So, the remaining things now are:
1. hang the pics in the nursery
2. put together the double stroller
3. install car seat (newly added to list)
4. pack my bags for the hospital (newly added)

The things that are done are:
1. baby bedding washed and put on bed
2. crib mattress bought - thanks mom and dad!
3. master bedroom painted
4. bottles, and passies bought
5. Stanley Steemer coming on Tuesday
6. Housekeeper coming Tuesday to give estimate and 8/15 to do the deep cleaning
7. Stock up on diapers and formula - will do this weekend since diapers are tax-free!
8. Choose another kitchen cabinet for the baby's bottles and formula
9. get Chloe's old swing and bouncy seat out and put new batteries in them
10. set up the bassinette in our room

I went to the doctor today for my 37 week check-up. Here's the short version of how it went... baby's heartbeat is perfect, baby is still breech, and I am measuring perfectly. I go back on August 5th for another check.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures of Chloe. I can't believe that she is not going to be an only child for much longer. I hope and pray that she adjusts well and doesn't feel sad or ignored since she is used to getting tons and tons of attention.

Birthday for Baby Boy is...

August 18th!!! Only 24 more days to go and we will be meeting our son. The C-Section is scheduled for 1:00 PM. I admit that I have a whole wide range of emotions right now...excitement, fear, nervousness, etc. It's all the more real since we are about 3 weeks away from the BIG DAY! I have a whole list of "to-do's" for David which include...
1. Finish hanging the pictures in the nursery
2. Buy another crib mattress
3. Wash the bedding for Baby Boy and get it on the bed
4. Finish painting our bedroom - if we don't get it done before the birth, I'll never get it done
5. Schedule Stanley Steemer to clean our carpets
6. Hire a housekeeper to do a deep thorough cleaning of the house
7. Put together the double stroller
8. Get all of Chloe's old equipment out (swing, bouncy seat, etc...) and make sure the batteries all work
9. Stock up on some more bottles, passies, diapers and formula

Oh boy, I'm stressed just thinking about all of that. Oh well, it will get done as my nesting instinct is kicking in more and more by the hour. Too bad men don't get it as well as then everything would be done in no time flat.

So that's the latest and greatest. Oh, at my appointment today I measured perfect, and baby's heartbeat sounded great.

Short update

Just a short update to let you all know that I am still here and Baby Boy is still where he should be. I am still contracting and hurting pretty much everyday, but it's mostly if I am up more than I should be. I've gotten brave the past 2 days and have taken on more than I should, so today is my rest and relax day. My mom is here now for 2 weeks so she has taken on all of the roles that I normally do - thank you Mom!!!
I have an appointment tomorrow and I should find out the date of my, we'll know baby's birthday tomorrow. I'll update after the appointment and will include a few Chloe pics too since it's been a while.

Bed Rest for this Mama...It's Not Easy

I had my 32 week OB appointment on Tuesday which by all means should have just been a quick visit to get measured and listen for the baby's heartbeat. However, I went in with contractions 3-5 minutes apart so my OB went ahead and checked for heartbeat and measurements, checked for cervical changes (which at that time there were none) but then proceeded to send me on to the hospital for monitoring.

When we got there, I was hooked up and found that I was not contracting a whole lot anymore, but I did have a lot of "uterine irritability" so the doctor ordered a bag of IV fluids and 10mg of Procardia to stop everything. It seemingly worked until the nurse came to take the IV out and right before she did that, I started with real contractions that were very uncomfortable and coming 4 minutes apart. So, she watched me for a little while longer and once she saw that they were not stopping, she got more orders from the doctor for another bag of IV fluids, another dose of Procardia and a dose of Morphine. My body didn't respond to any of it either, so a few hours later, the nurse checked me and determined that my cervix was starting to change (meaning the contractions were actually starting labor). She got another order, but this time the doctor decided that if she could "knock me out" so to speak, that maybe that would knock out the contractions as well. I got a dose of Stadol and within 30 seconds I was knocked out....a few minutes later, the contractions stopped as well. I was given the okay to go home around midnight with orders to be on strict bedrest for the rest of this pregnancy.

Silly me thought that the doctor that ordered the bed rest couldnt really mean it as she was not MY doctor. So, I got up the next day and phoned my doc and wouldn't you know, he agreed with her that since my cervix is changing and these contractions start up with any activity at all, he wants me in the bed except to eat, shower, and use the restroom. So, yesterday was my first full day of bedrest and it was hard. Two times I actually forgot that I was supposed to be resting (because I feel normal if I am just laying around) and I got up and started doing things. Don't worry though, I quickly laid back down as soon as the contractions started again. I guess the bedrest really is needed as I didn't really contract a whole lot yestesrday, but I did have lots of pressure off and on regardless of whether I was laying down or not.

One good thing about this is that Chloe is super cuddly with me now. She must sense something since I am not up playing with her, taking her places like normal, and running around with her outside. So my sweet little girl has taken to climbing up on the couch and laying her head on my belly and giving me lots of kisses. Her kisses now come with sound effects...sounds something like this as she moves in "mmmmmmm!" It's the sweetest thing and makes me smile or all out laugh everytime. Also, she will bring her toys and books to me and will sit on the couch so that we can play together.

Anyways, we are not ready for little boy to be here yet as there is still so much to do, so I am praying that he will cook for at least the rest of July. However, again, I am reminded from God that I can lay out my plans, but that he will direct my steps. One day at a time from here on out...
